Bolivar

Bolívar is a contemporary calligraphic display typeface inspired in the handwriting of one of the most prominent personalities of the nineteenth century in latin america: Simón Bolívar, “the liberator”.

This new typeface intends to convey all the passion of this man, present in the calligraphic features of his handwriting, into a mechanical writing. Among the characteristics that best contribute to build its personality, are worth mentioning the excessive length of ascenders and descenders as well as the more than 45 degrees of slant. Bolívar also mimics certain aspects of handwriting such as the slightly different baseline alignment for each letter and ink clogs in the whitespace of some letter shapes.

Use Bolívar whenever you feel the need to give a very personal touch to a text fragment, from logos or single words to sentences and captions.

Lirrot

Lirrot is a typographic family consisting of 6 different variations. Its strokes, formed by ink excesses, is its main characteristic. I finished Lirrot thanks to a conversation I had with a friend who is a psychiatrist and talked me about one of his patients. That was the thrust I needed to finish this font that I started in 2001.

Lirrot Gris, Negra, Hueca include the complete character set with lower and upper case letters, numbers, accents, diacritics, punctuation and monetary symbols. All of the fonts included in this familily are available in the Open Type format and they are Mac and PC compatible.

Nikona

Nikona is a typographic family composed by eight fonts. The leading thread that typifies this family is its “mutant spirit”; a result of my personal and typographic interpretation of the three robotic laws created by Asimov in 1940, and reflected many times in sci-fi movies, comics and Japanese anime.

The structure and details of Blanca, Gris and Negra Nikona suggest solidity and an ideal typographic color that can be perfectly combined with X1, X2 and X3 Nikona. These last three fonts are the perfect “season” due to that tangled personality that identifies them. Nikona Stencil and Dingbats are perfect to be used in printing techniques based on templates.
