Andinistas Fonts was founded by #carlosfabiancg as an art and design group formed by design student friends in Mérida, Venezuela in 1998. The idea of those early years was to imitate the effects of the Romanian artist Dada #tristantzara by applying ink, paper, scissors, glue, copier, scanner and a Power Macintosh 7200 to redraw different alphabets from a Mecanorma catalog I found at a thrift store. hand in Mérida that was enlarged with a photocopier. These extensions were deformed with artisan effects made with sandpaper, candle, water and dried in the sun. Over the years, I redrew those alphabets with ink and scissors based on an old speedball manual. One day I got a CD with FreeHand and Fontographer and designed #truetype (TT) and #postscript (PS1) files to download at dot com dot ve scalers. In 2006 I published in #myfonts modifying all the files again with #fontlab 3 because I invented new ones to continue expressing myself typographically.
